Could I generate sample disinformation for research purposes?
I am doing some research on LLMs and disinformation and was wondering whether I could use BLOOM to do this. It is for research purposes, but disinformation is typically against the terms of service, so I figured I should ask.
Hi @Infinity1337 , yes you can.
The restriction on false information (c) states that you cannot use BLOOM to generate or disseminate verifiably false information "with the purpose of harming others".
Moreover, restriction (e) states that you cannot generate or disseminate information or content, in any context (...) "without expressly and intelligibly disclaiming that the text is machine generated".
In case it is for research purposes and made clear to potential users/readers (if any) of the generated information, that's fine.
